How tall can I build my fence?

You do need a permit for any masonry fence with a footer that is taller than 2 feet. You also need a permit for any other type of fence that is taller than 10 feet. Several non-residential zoning districts require landscaped buffers with a minimum 6-foot high fence if adjacent to an incompatible land use.
